Dr. Kenan Dagci is a Professor of International Relations and Advisor at Humanitarian Studies Foundation in New York. He was founding director of Center for International Conflict Resolution at Yalova University. He received his BA in International Relations from the School of Political Sciences at Istanbul University in 1997, and his Ph.D. in the field of the European Studies from the same university in 2004. He was project director at Istanbul based Turkish Asian Center for Strategic Studies in 2005-2006.
Dr. Dagci is the co-editor of Rethinking Turkey-EU Relations (MV Wissenschaft, 2007), Iran on the Chess Board (2007, TASAM Publications), Broader Middle East Project (2007, TASAM Publications), Africa in the New Century: Security, Politics, Economy (2005, TASAM Publications), and also author of European Union and Capitalism (2005, TASAM Publications).
He is editor-in-chief of Alternatives: Turkish Journal of International Relations. He serves on the editorial boards of Alternatives: Turkish Journal of International Relations, Journal of Security Strategy and Political Studies, Barış Araştırmaları ve Çatışma Çözümleri Dergisi (Journal of Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution), Journal of Knowledge Economy and Knowledge Management, Journal of Emerging Economies and Policy.
His research interest has so far focused on European Union’s Foreign Policy, Turkish Foreign Policy, Middle Eastern Politics, and Central Asia. He organized an international conference on “Peace and Stability in Kyrgyzstan in 2010, and worked on organizing several international conferences on the political and security problems of Turkey, Middle East and Asia.
Dr. Dagci was also a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Near Eastern Studies, and Mario Einaudi Center for International Studies at Cornell University (USA) in 2011-2012.
